FAQs

What to do after treatment with erbium laser peel for skin resurfacing?

It usually takes about 3-5 days for the inflammation to subside, depending on the area treated and the energy used. Patients will notice a constant improvement of lines, wrinkles, sun damage spots, and scars for up to 6 months after treatment.

Initially, there will be some swelling. In less than a week, you will see new softer pink skin.

After treatment, it is important to use sunscreen because your skin may be more sensitive to the sun as it is healing. It should not be submerged in saunas, Jacuzzi, and swimming pools. You should not exercise for 7 days to avoid infection.

It is a less invasive precision laser that helps enter layer by layer on the skin surface to regenerate creating enough collagen, it has a minimum healing process, unlike other lasers, it is much more harmless and does not generate heat to the surroundings from where the procedure is performed.

Many people compare it or relate it to the co2 laser, its difference is that the co2 laser is a little more aggressive because it uses a much shorter pulsed light energy than that of the erbium.

In the case of people with a darker skin tone, it is advisable to use laser erbium because it is much safer and because its healing is less, the probability of hyperpigmentation is much lower.
